as  different winds of change
reveal ever-emerging from our planet
seemingly unprecedented opportunity
for global destruction -
or for global friendship.
The next step in evolution
simply must be inner revolution
of heart..

prominently declared
in  bicentennial 1976:

"At this moment no-one can know,
but by 2076 we shall know -
whether humanity
has won or lost."

WE SHALL HAVE WON!!!

We men of SGI 
accept this challenge
for the sake of our most beloved family
under the sun.

The sun rises upon a New Era 
roaring yellow
pouncing from mountain peak to plain
splitting the shadows of the dead past
bringing to life all the colors of the people
and the different languages of their wakening
and the universal characters on a scroll
where a lion lives
and roars back at the pledge to propagate
the seed of hope:
"let us crush injustice and suffering
opening the way to a vast garden of capable people,
a brilliant Century of Life."

We are all the family
splitting the earth to light as
Bodhisattva seedlings growing out from shadows of
suffering
to reveal the emptiness of their threats,
we are all the garden in that Castle of Unity
built out of our meetings and visits, of gold bricks
extracted from our hearts through opening them, to the Law
of the Family
of Humanity.

We are all the justice that shines most when no friend cheers,
thus shining uniquely for those in the night of blind
suffering,
the action that roars like the Sun-Lion.

We chant and try and chant and try, endlessly,
speaking the languages of everyone,
plainest colors blended boldly upon revealing,
and the master portrait of,
once invisible hope,
we are all most gifted to encourage because the most ordinary
of people,
we are nascent lion cubs responding to:

  "I keep praying for you
   to become a lion.
   I pray the king of beasts
   to be in your heart."

Indomitably,
our hearts of compassionate courage 
reach the heart-pounding ocean of humanity
through our behavior as a human being.
We lead through example.

"Like the waterfall fierce
Like the waterfall unflagging
Like the waterfall unfearing
Like the waterfall merrily
Like the waterfall proudly--
A man should have the bearing of a king."
