["PURSUING EMPATHY"]
...And in the evening crowd,
by the dusky river,
I travel with her on the dusty
streamers of her eyes' searches,
'flashlight beams," - wrinkled,
sprinkled over youthful bodies, parting
into two long lonely roads at whose ends
unmeeting she yet seeks
two friendly eyes, just
so as to see clearly...
