"Awaken"

 

Today I determine to build for justice

with my own capable hands,

turning self-pity on its head 

by using my heart,

to burst the chains of destiny I forged myself 

while blind.

 

Feeling the wisdom, courage, compassion

of a Mentor crucial to humanity.

 I open my eyes

to his mirror of role model

and see.. galaxies 

lived undiscovered within humanity,

and the earth pregnant with your dawn...

 

The jewel of my commitment

will burn brighter and brighter

no matter what, 

offering you my Vow 

..to melt  humanity's chains

with our bonds of  warmth,

and eyes reflecting happiness

of indestructible growth.
