The Eye of God?

Earth,
given water and air
by the bombardment of comets:
blue egg, did one of them conceive you with life?

Earth,
now watching the universe:
blue eye,
will you now be the means
for the universe to see itself, its essence?

Do you absorb into you all the heavens,
the suns but sands in the light of Intellect:
is the Cosmos become the tiny Egg,
to fertilize with Meaning
(though true we might be but one of many 'comets)?

or...
will we stay but a mote
in the I of the Beholder?
