TO A TROUBLED YOUNG FRIEND by Phil
As you seek to find yourself,
exploring confusingly different aspects of yourself
as of a jewel,
your essence seemingly so distant
like a faintly twinkling star wondering
wondering whether to go out,
instead of turning inward in self-pity,
gaze outward in hope
through the dark window
as you turn out your light amid
the constellations:
and in bed
exploring flickering stars like reflections on a
dome of on giant jewel's facets,
rsolve to fit the pieces together
and tomorrow to reach within and bring out
the sunshine in everyone.
