Hey everyone. Just wanted to put this out there. If anyone on here tells you to go on a dodgy site, don't do it. Some people might think that relationships are just about the physical side. It's also about getting to know the other person, supporting each other and being there for each other. On dating sites you need to be careful as some people are pervs and just want something untoward. Have respect for others and be a good person. If you see people putting blog posts up that sound untoward, or you get a bad message, report them immediately.
Obviously all that person wanted was that (the personal pictures one). Like not long after she started talking to me. Remember guys that you can always say no and you don't HAVE to do anything. I've been on a couple of dating sites and it's so full of catfish
I've had it before where people have asked for money and stuff. Never given any but up until then I thought they were genuine. I blocked them immediately. Another person tried sending me pictures of themselves. Like personal ones. I blocked them too. I agree with what sirdood said about the checking pictures etc. I truly hate catfish. But some people also are who they say they are but arnt great people. Be careful of them too
Edit: An after thought. If you are unsure if someone is who they say they are, there are little tricks you can employ to catch them out. First and foremost is their profile pic, it's the msot reliable way to catch them out - some of very obviously "fake" but if you are in doubt - save their image to your computer, and then use google. Go to Images, and then click the "search by image" button in the search bar. Upload the saved picture to it. Google will then find that image for you if it exists in other places.
It is a near foolproof way to catch out these people, even if they have edited the image. If that comes back yielding nought, then the next thing you can do - which will probably sound weird to them - is ask them to send you a picture in a weird format. For example; "Can you send me a picture of yourself touching your left ear with your right ring finger." Sounds strange yes, but it works, and you can be blunt about it if they ask why and just say it's to clear up doubts you might be having.
Stay safe, the internet is a dangerous place.
Also be aware not to be taken advantage of. Some people come across as very nice at first, and will work their arse off with very deceptive wordplay to get into your head and make you think they are the best thing since sliced bread and can be trusted.
On the internet more than anything, think critically before rushing into things that you might later regret.
