About Me
I'm autistic with a special interest in ecosystems (I also know rather more about wildlife than perhaps most - I'm rarely without my binoculars). Since I first wrote my profile on here I met a lovely woman with whom I am in a stable monogamous relationship, but I am always keen to make friends with people who share my interests.
I can't see how to update the part that states who I am looking for. Since I am now looking for friends only I would like to state that I will talk to anybody who thinks we might get along.
I enjoy a lot of outdoor things, such as hiking, wild camping and so on. I'm often found in the hills, or with my tent up in the dunes behind a deserted beach on one of the islands. I'm physically fit and healthy.
I'm moderately geeky about a few other things. I like to read, mostly better-quality science fiction, but other things as well.
I have a few sensory issues (noisy environments and artificial scents being the two big ones).
Politically I'm pretty left of centre (think Goldman and Kropotkin more than Marx), with influences from ecological thought (including ecofeminism). I buy most of my books in the radical bookshop in Edinburgh.
