About Me
I taught for six years at the community college level but then tried a career change. This fall, I intend to restart my college teaching career. I taught English composition and literature, and literature is one of my top interests. I also love sci-fi/fantasy fiction as well as graphic novels. My favorite classic writers are Walt Whitman, Herman Melville, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Victor Hugo, Thomas Hardy, George Eliot, and others. Back in the day, I used to love DC Comics, and I will always love Watchmen and All-Star Superman.
I received my diagnosis in September 2016, and it has changed my life for the better. I am wanting to become a serious advocate for autistic rights and acceptance.
Over the years, I've developed all kinds of interests, from sports to tarot cards. I really enjoy good TV shows and good films. Some of my favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Lost, BSG, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and others. Some of my favorite movies are There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, The Godfather, almost anything by Kubrick or Tarantino, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Right now, I'm living in central Virginia as I prepare to move to Tennessee this summer; however, I am in Tennessee virtually every week. It's where I am as I type this. I'd like to meet someone in Tennessee or southwest Virginia or western North Carolina ideally. That said, I really like talking to other autistic people, so please write if you want, no matter where you are.
Please write if you're at all interested--I really want to meet more people on the spectrum. I'm tired of having to explain or justify my stimming or my repetitive patterns. I'd like to meet someone whose brain works similarly.
